Mission - Raireshwar Trek
Yet another trek and this time it was full of unexpected situations happening all over the trekking. This time we were going to Raireshwar a little further from Pune (2 hrs.) in Bhor region.
Raireshwar has a temple famous for its historical importance. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj took the oath of Hindavi Swarajya in this temple at the age of 16. The temple is very old and of stone structure. It is situated in between various hills and forts such as Kenjalgad. The temple is on a platue. We were about to start at 6 O'clock in the morning from Magapatta City and it was already raining heavily from midnight which we were not expecting although but it was good for the trek.
Everybody hoped that this rain continues at Raireshwar too. So, we started around 6 am and picked everyone on the way. The road was not that good also, so we reached the base village Korle around 10 am. We had our breakfast over there and then started the trek and unfortunately it was not raining over here.
It was a very bright and sunny day and because of this, trek was becoming a little difficult for everyone. The first hour was very tiring, everybody was exhausted soon then they expected. The steep road came to an end and there was a very high ladder to climb and after that the path was very easy. On the way, there were amazing varieties of wild flowers.
After the heat waves, sweat and nearly around three hours, we finally reached the top of the mountian which is a huge platue. At the top there is a temple called "Raireshwar Temple". Everybody visited the temple and then afterwards we had tea. There was a local person over there who told us that they can serve us food if we need. So, some of us ordered Chapatti, Jhunka and Rice for the lunch. Jhunka was really verty spicy.
Then after lunch, we played some games together and decided to trek down around 3.30pm. As soon as we started descending, it started raining heavily and as usual this was too not expected. But the fun of getting drenched in the rain is different, and more better at such a beautiful place. It rained for a while and then stopped. We kept walking on and on. Soon it started raining again and this time it was very heavy and it seemed that it will not stop. We reached the base village around 5.30 and most of us were completely wet.
We started off around 6.00 pm and on the way in a village some people stopped our bus and informed us that two people are left behind. Every body was shocked and most amazing thing was that the people left behind were organisers. We stopped at the next village where the left over people came by bike. We took a halt in between at Natraj Hotel where people took some snacks and tea. The entire journey back home was great, people sang some real melodious old numbers. We reached Magarpatta back around 10.30pm in the night packing all the unexpected and good time spent together.
